The latest version of NX™ (NX 10) software enables solving the most complex simulation problems even faster. NX 10 greatly expands the types of solutions that can be solved using NX CAE by introducing new environments for multiphysics analyses and the LMS Samtech Samcef™ Solver Suite software.

The new  Advanced FEM environment for LMS Samtech Samcef Solver opens a new horizon for composite design and analysis.

Simulate Critical Performance Attributes

LMS Samcef, is a complete family of finite element solvers – from basic linear structures to flexible nonlinear mechanisms, including thermal simulation. It offers unique advanced non-linear capabilities for static and dynamic analysis as well as the simulation of damage growth in composite structures.

NX software is an integrated product design, engineering and manufacturing solution that helps companies deliver better products faster and more efficiently.

This new environment enables you to create the complete analysis workflow of LMS Samtech Samcef simulation models in NX and take full advantage of the geometric capabilities of NX.  Importing an existing LMS Samcef input file in NX automatically creates a NX simulation session which can then be further updated making it possible to re-use all or part of a simulation model.

The NX environment offers features for importing, creating and updating LMS Samcef geometry, creating mesh and associated properties, applying boundary conditions and perform postprocessing

Exploiting the potential of Composites

This new solution provides quite unique features for the analysis of nonlinear composite structures. Phenomena like delamination and progressive damage can be modeled with the advanced capabilities provided by LMS Samcef solver. The productive framework enables engineers to create faster LMS Samcef models taking into account the composite design parameters like ply, laminates, fiber orientation and much more.

With FibersimTM, NX laminate composite and LMS Samcef in its portfolio, Siemens PLM Software makes it possible end to end process for the design and manufacturing of composite materials. For more information about the new environment check our website
