11th International TopSolid Seminar

Missler Software recently held its 11th International TopSolid seminar in Cannes, in the South of France. The annual TopSolid seminar took place from January 18-22 and marked the 2012 kick-off for French internal teams and international TopSolid resellers. More than 200 participants from over 35 countries participated in the event which focused essentially on the new TopSolid 2012 versions.

Both internal and international sales team had the opportunity to discover the new 2012 versions and the roadmap for future versions during the plenary session and break-out sessions organised throughout the seminar.

The busy agenda also included fun time with a sailing regatta in the Bay of Cannes, a 2 CV visit of Cannes' close-by picturesque villages and a minibus visit of historical villages.

The seminar concluded with a gala award ceremony where the most successful French and international Sales Teams were rewarded.

More than 200 participants from the TopSolid community attended the TopSolid International Seminar in Cannes from 18-22 January.

A successful 2011 for Missler Software

Missler Software is pleased to announce successful 2011 end of year results with an increase in sales turnover of 6%. Despite a somewhat difficult global economic context the company has increased its turnover both in France and on international markets.

The French market performed particularly well with an increase in the region of 10% compared to 2010 results. The main champions of this growth were the Cam, ERP and TopSolid'Design 7 products. Cam sales increased by 40% in France showing a new confidence on the part of French manufacturing and sub-contracting companies.

Missler Software announced a continued strong sales performance in its 2 leading international markets outside France: Japan and Germany. In fact turnover in the German-speaking market has increased fivefold over the past 10 years.

2012 is set to be another strong year for TopSolid. Thanks to the new TopSolid 7 software generation which is completely based on new software development technology, Missler Software promises its customers productivity gains in the region of 20 to 30%. TopSolid will continue in 2012 to address the manufacturing market by providing integrated CAD/CAM software for the mechanical engineering, sheet metal and wood industries.

TopSolid'Wood 2012

TopSolid'Wood 2012 will be launched in April but will be available for demonstration at the upcoming Expobois trade fair which will take place in Paris from 08 to 11 February. Many new improvements are available in this version such as:

• Improved part and panel definition
• New functions for your components
• More efficient design functions
• More precise draft generation
• Increased machining functions

New TopSolid'Design 7 tutorial

As announced in previous newsletters we will publish this month and over the coming months a new video per newsletter to accompany the new TopSolid'Design 7 tutorial available on the TopSolid 7 mini web site. The third video shows you how to quickly and easily design a vice with TopSolid'Design 7.

The TopSolid'Design 7 tutorial will be automatically available within TopSolid 7 in the coming months. The goal of this tutorial is to teach you the very basics of working with TopSolid 7. It has been written with the key focus of getting a new user running as quickly as possible within the TopSolid 7 environment.

Customer of the month: Verhofsté

The company Verhofsté based in Zele, Belgium has been using software for the commercial and technical design of its steel shelters since 2006. Its €60,000 investment to replace the old AutoCad software with TopSolid has greatly accelerated development of the company’s made-to-measure products. It now only takes a few minutes to design a new shelter. This new method is also set to boost sales.
In the past all new models had to be completely re-drawn, and the new dimensions entered. It took several hours to design a new model in this way. So Filip Verhofsté went looking for a solution. "What we needed was an easy-to-use software package, that didn’t require much training. Above all, the tool we were looking for had to make it possible to quickly deliver customer proposals along with a fully technical drawing. Thanks to the new TopSolid software, it now only takes a few minutes to design a new shelter. We consulted Luc Cornelis from 4D Services in Ternat as part of the process."

How to save time with TopSolid'Design 7

You need to copy an existing assembly and just make a couple of small changes to some parts. It is therefore very useful to be able to copy all documents concerning the assembly in question. The Copy/Paste Special function enables you to easily copy all documents linked to your assembly.

1. Copy the documents
2. Special paste in the same or another project
3. Select the parts to be copied: in this case the plate and the manifold
4. Carry out the desired changes to the 2 parts from the assembly 
5. Your work is over
