Arc Second Releases New PocketCAD?Based Punch List Product

PocketCAD AddIn delivers powerful inspection and project management tools for the Architectural, Engineering and Construction markets

DULLES, Virginia – Sept. 5, 2002 - Arc Second, Inc., the provider of award-winning mobile engineering solutions, today announced the immediate availability of its new PunchList AddIn for PocketCAD PRO 4.0.
The PunchList AddIn takes the traditional task of creating construction site punch lists to a powerful new level. PocketCAD PunchList leverages the power of the PocketPC and creates a fast and easy way to catalogue critical inspection information and notations. Because it sits on PocketCAD, it is able to seamlessly link in-field notations and inspections directly to the CAD drawings of the sites being inspected. PocketCAD PunchList’s project management features allow users to view inspection data and notations gathered in the field with the capability to tag them to the actual CAD drawings. Punch list tasks can then be easily assigned, managed and documented.

PunchList uses drop-down lists to simplify data entry and to ensure consistency in the way data is recorded. Drop-down lists are completely user customizable. PocketCAD PunchList also supports voice notations, digital photography and video, increasing the data input and documentation choices for users in the field.

“We have paid very close attention to our user base and are responding to their ideas and feedback with functionality improvements and AddIns such as PocketCAD PunchList,” commented Edward Barrientos, President and C.E.O. of Arc Second. “From small architectural shops to large multi-national companies such as Takenaka Corporation of Japan, our growing user base is a true partner in helping Arc Second to continuously expand and improve PocketCAD’s capabilities.”

Takenaka Corporation of Japan was an initial user of PocketCAD PunchList and used the product during the renovation of the Mikazuki Hotel in Tokyo. According to Mr. Kazuhiro Mizushima of the East Kanto District Branch of Takenaka Corporation, "The new system proved to be a lot easier than manually inputting data into paper forms. You can input the inspection and progress information right on the spot.” He added, "We've seen a 30% reduction in time over the old method."

PocketCAD PunchList is ideal for multi-unit construction projects such as apartment buildings, hotels, single-family homes as well as for cataloguing and inspecting equipment and infrastructure. The PocketCAD PunchList Add-in can purchased and downloaded online for $59 by visiting the PocketCAD website at www.pocketcad.com.
