"Although the softness in the economy in general, and in the U.S. automotive sector in particular, was more challenging than expected, we still recorded double-digit bookings growth year-over-year," said David Opsahl, Actify's CEO. "Coupled with our renewal rate approaching 90%, which is way above the industry average, we experienced growth in all parts of the business. This fiscal year represented the first full year of sales for Actify's DesignShare™ product line, which incorporates the company's leading product data visualization SpinFire™ software with Microsoft's SharePoint™ collaboration platform. The combination provides discrete manufacturers who depend on product data to run their businesses, the ability to find, use, share, and manage product data across the enterprise and with their suppliers, partners, and customers.
"We saw a number of significant commitments to both SpinFire™ and DesignShare™ throughout all three major geographies," said Chris Jones, Actify's president. The company expects fiscal year 2009 to continue the trend of the past two years. "We are in development of SpinFire™ Professional 9.0, which is the most significant release of our core product in several years," says Opsahl. "Our customers have been looking forward to a number of new capabilities, and we don't intend to disappoint them. This product is expected to enter beta testing by the end of the year, and will help accelerate our business as customers, both existing and new, discover the benefits of SpinFire Professional 9.0. Along with the release of DesignShare 3.0 in the early spring, this gives us a very strong product portfolio for delivery in the coming year."
