Meet Astronaut Greg Johnson at the International Manufacturing Conference & EXPO in Cleveland on February 14

CLEVELAND, Feb. 13, 2012 — (PRNewswire) — NASA will help launch the first-ever International Manufacturing Conference & EXPO, taking place Feb. 14-15 at The Galleria, 1301 E. 9th St. in Downtown Cleveland. The EXPO is pleased to announce that astronaut Greg Johnson will make a special appearance at the event at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14. Johnson will be signing autographs for approximately one hour.

Johnson has been with NASA since 1998. He piloted the STS-123 Endeavour (March 11 to March 26, 2008), the 25th shuttle/station assembly mission. Born in the United Kingdom, Johnson graduated from Park Hills High School in Fairborn, Ohio. He received his B.S. in aeronautical engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1984 and his M.S. in flight structures engineering from Columbia University in 1985. In 2005, Johnson received his MBA from the University of Texas.

NASA will be well-represented at the International Manufacturing Conference & EXPO. NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland will have 12 patentable designs on display, and will be looking for manufacturers who can help turn these designs into highly marketable products. In addition, NASA Glenn director Ramon "Ray" Lugo III will be a featured speaker during the conference portion of the event. He will speak on Wednesday, Feb. 15 about an "Ohio manufacturing revolution."

The International Manufacturing Conference & EXPO is designed to connect manufacturers and end-users through one-on-one discussions, breakout sessions and informative networking activities. More than 150 exhibitors will be touting their expertise. Attendees from across the United States and Canada will be on hand.
