November 12, 2012 - World leading metal working tool maker ISCAR, a Berthshire Hathaway company present in 50 countries globally, has chosen ROBOTMASTER to power the robot machine cell at its training center in Säo Paulo, Brazil. In partnership with Kuka Robotics and ASCONGRAPH, ROBOTMASTER’s distributor in Brazil, ISCAR has installed the cell and offered its first live demonstrations of robot machining applications.
The cell uses a Kuka KR200 robot, with a KRC2 control, setup for milling by Kuka Systems of Brazil. Robotmaster was used for CAD/CAM off-line programming of the milling programs.
The ISCAR Training Center notes that this kind of application brings large machining flexibility and cost-effectiveness to the market, turning the robot into a machine-tool that marries the advantages of an industrial robot, such as heavy workload, high flexibility, low initial cost and 6-axis reach. In addition, by using the new KUKA.CNC control and G-code program output developed for Kuka by ROBOTMASTER, end users will benefit from the ease-of-use of a CNC controller, such as intuitive CNC user interface, tool radius compensation and familiar G code programming.
ASCONGRAPH, based in Sao Paulo, is working closely with Kuka and ISCAR to help the Training Center accelerate the adoption of the most advanced and efficient innovations in machining applications in Brazil.
