TravelTime Hosts ArcGIS Network Analysis Workshop For GIS Day

The TravelTime workshop on 18 November will help ArcGIS users make better business decisions with public transport data

London, UK, November 12, 2020 – TravelTime is celebrating GIS Day on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 with an online webinar workshop that will walk through how to use the new ArcGIS pro add-in, focused on journey time analytics. The workshop will explain how to create public transport isochrones, calculate a distance matrix and perform a population catchment area analysis.

As well as a technical walkthrough, TravelTime will explain typical use cases for public transport analytics; including retail site selection & closure decision making, commercial real estate analytics, transport planning and urban planning. It will also cover the differences between the existing ArcGIS Network Analyst functionality and new features available using the add-in.

The webinar takes place on 18 November at 3pm GMT and is free to attend. Anyone interested can sign up here. The first 5 registered attendees will also receive a free ArcGIS licence for personal use.

Chris Hutchinson, Head of Customer Success at TravelTime said:After joining the Esri Partner program earlier this year, we’re thrilled to be hosting an event for GIS Day. Our workshop allows ArcGIS users to create public transport catchment areas in minutes, without using code or third-party transport data sources. We’re looking forward to answering any questions the community has about public transport analytics.”

Over 20 years ago, Jack Dangermond, the founder and president of Esri, envisioned people collaborating and sharing how GIS affects everyone. This led to the establishment of GIS Day, which was first observed in 1999. The explosion of geospatial technology since then has expanded that idea into a global event that shows how geography and the real-world applications of GIS are making a difference in business, government and society. It's a chance for organizations to share their accomplishments and inspire others to discover and use GIS.

"GIS Day is a wonderful opportunity for professionals from around the world to get together to share the amazing things they are doing," said Jack Dangermond. "This year, more than ever before, the work of GIS has helped the world better understand and mitigate the impacts of COVID-19. Organizations across the globe are taking part in grassroots events that help celebrate geospatial science and how it impacts the real world for good. Our users should be proud of the work they do, which GIS Day is meant to showcase."
