Oxford, England. September 18, 2013
Following successful workshops in Manchester, UK and Toulouse, France, aimed at solving two of the biggest questions in PLM:-
- What is PLM worth to the business in purely financial terms?
- What can we put on the table to show this financial value?
The next workshops will take the results from Manchester and Toulouse as their starting point, so that participants can concentrate on building tools and metrics to demonstrate the financial performance of their own company's PLM implementation.
The PLM Manager's Handbook (
MCADCafe Sept. 11), the forthcoming PLM Financial Primer, and the new accountancy structure will all be part of the working material. The workshops will be a major step forward in the process of establishing an industry-standard cost-benefit mechanism for PLM, and providing the financial proof of PLM benefits.
As always, the timing and location of the new workshops will be arranged to suit those who would like to participate, and input is welcome from PLM practitioners in any organisation or country. The series will run in Europe and the USA, and will travel to other regions if there is sufficient support.
The PLMIG would therefore welcome suggestions or feedback via
financial@plmig.com.
