National launch of “The GO” adds to excitement of Tech Bash
MIAMI — (BUSINESS WIRE) — November 5, 2014 — TigerDirect announced today that it has secured exclusive national distribution rights for ImmersiON-VRelia’s “The GO.” Supported by a standout software development kit and open content creation platform, The GO is a smartphone-powered Head Mounted Display (HMD), which delivers a 120-degree field of view, adjustable optics and the ability to accommodate most smartphone screen sizes.
The GO will hit the market at TigerDirect’s 2014 TigerDirect Tech Bash on Friday, November 7 at Miami’s Marlins Park, providing early adopters and virtual reality disciples an opportunity to demo the latest in head-mounted displays. A limited number of units will also be available for purchase. Those wishing to pre-order will have the first opportunity to do so at the bash.
“Immersion-VRelia’s mission is to enable the mass adoption of high-quality virtual and augmented reality by the general public,” said Ethan Schur, Chief Marketing Officer for ImmersiON-VRelia. “TigerDirect plays a critical role in accomplishing this goal by allowing The GO to reach people’s hands at a great price.”
The GO retails for $89 and will be available at www.TigerDirect.com in November. TigerDirect anticipates pre-orders made at the Tech Bash will be in consumer hands by December 2014.
