Keysight Technologies, Georgia Tech Announce Plan to Launch Keysight Software Development Center

SANTA ROSA, Calif. & ATLANTA — (BUSINESS WIRE) — May 18, 2016 — Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS) and the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) today announced a plan to launch a Keysight software development center to accelerate Keysight’s transformation into a software-centric solutions provider. Keysight has chartered the center to develop next-generation software for use in the design and test of electronic products being created by Keysight’s customers around the world.

Keysight, which has a longstanding relationship with Georgia Tech, expects the new center to benefit both organizations by combining emerging talent from one of the top ranking engineering programs in the U.S. ( www.coe.gatech.edu/rankings-and-stats) with the resources and experience of the world’s leading electronic design and test company.

The new facility will grow to house more than 200 software developers over the next five years. Located in Atlanta’s growing Midtown district, the center will feature an open environment that fosters collaboration and supports an agile software development approach. With its proximity to Georgia Tech, Keysight’s center will have access to leading research, top students and state-of-the-art engineering laboratories.

“We are excited by the opportunities and innovation that our new software development center will generate,” said Ron Nersesian, Keysight president and CEO. “Georgia Tech has one of the largest and top ranked engineering programs in the country, and its students bring with them skills and capabilities that will be a great asset to Keysight.”

“One of the most attractive aspects of the innovation neighborhood we have created in Midtown’s Tech Square is not just the number of startups, but also the many Fortune 500 companies opening a presence there. Keysight Technologies is a perfect example—Keysight’s legacy includes Hewlett-Packard, and most recently Agilent Technologies, and they want access to the technologies and talent at Georgia Tech,” said G. P. “Bud” Peterson, Georgia Tech President.

“Georgia Tech, in partnership with the Governor’s Office, the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the Atlanta Mayor’s Office, and the Metro Atlanta Chamber, is pleased to welcome innovative companies like Keysight to Tech Square, creating jobs and growing Georgia’s economy,” added Peterson.

Todd Cutler, vice president and general manager, Keysight Software Products Organization (SPO) and EEsof Electronic Design Automation, will relocate from Santa Rosa to Atlanta to lead the new software development center.
