Regal-Beloit Double Down on User Experience with New Motor and Gearbox Product Configurator built by CADENAS PARTsolutions

Industrial manufacturer enables users to pair Hub City Gearboxes with Marathon Motors for the perfect combination

Sep 1, 2016 -- Regal-Beloit has doubled-down on the support for their online product configurator, multiplying the reach and effectiveness by enabling users to mix-and match products from separate Regal-Beloit brands. Now, users who visit the product configurator at  HubCityInc.com, a Regal-Beloit owned gearbox manufacturer, can add the matching Marathon Motor and order the products as a pair.  By helping users to access products across divisions, Regal-Beloit is increasing the effectiveness of their web-assets while helping customers increase their order accuracy.

Hub City Inc. is a leading manufacturer of industrial gearboxes, drives and associated products. Over 50% of Hub’s products are either modified or completely customized when ordered. Formerly, when a customer could configure a gearbox online the configured  model would be downloaded into the customer design and matched manually to a motor for the specific application. This left many variables for the customer, creating an opportunity for purchasing to select the incorrect product or incorrect vendor.

Now, users who configure their Hub City Hera ES series gearbox online have the capability to perfectly mate a variety of Marathon Motors to the configuration. They can then download the native model of the product pair into their design to test the fit for their application. If they are happy with the combo they can easily order the pair with a single part number, found on the configurator as well as embedded into the CAD model.

“Regal-Beloit is leading the way with this project, using their online configurator to cross-promote product lines and multiply their sales opportunities,” says Rob Zesch President and COO of CADENAS PARTsolutions. “By placing the tools in the hands of engineers, they are eliminating the variables in the specification and purchasing process, while increasing customer exposure to their many complementary products. They’re simplifying the process to find the perfect motor and gearbox combination, effectively multiplying their sales opportunities as well as multiplying the overall sales value! A brilliant strategy to grow their business organically.”
