International High-Tech Conference Coming to Berlin: Global Additive Applications Summit to Present Innovative 3D Printing Solutions.

Hands-on Additive Manufacturing Conference for Industrial Applications (GAAS) brings together leading industry players such as BASF, Deutsche Bahn, Airbus and Siemens.

Berlin (Germany), October 28th, 2019 – BigRep, the Berlin-based global leader in large-format 3D printing, has partnered with RedCabin, a tech conference expert consultancy, to host some of the world’s leading industrial companies using Additive Manufacturing (AM) based on 3D-printing at the exclusive Global Additive Applications Summit (GAAS) in the German capital on October 30 th and 31 st .

The high-level conference will bring together leaders from across industries to discuss their use cases, innovative applications and new opportunities in AM with experts, engineers and designers from the international 3D printing community. The event also serves to demonstrate Berlin’s role as a dynamic hub for start-ups and 21 st century disruptive technologies.

“As a leader in industrial AM solutions we are invested in growing processes, materials, applications, and their effective implementation to push modern manufacturing forward,” says BigRep Managing Director Martin Back. “The GAAS is showing how additive technology’s focus is evolving from prototyping to the production of end-use parts, thereby becoming an accessible serial production technology.”

During the summit (by invitation only) presentations will be given from experts in the automotive, railway, and aviation industries including  BASFDeutsche BahnAirbus, SiemensBombardier Transportation, Dassault Systèmes, and ottobock. BigRep will be represented by its Managing Director, Martin Back, and CIO, Daniel Buening.

As an incredibly fast-moving technology, AM has enabled inexpensive rapid prototyping for highly cost-efficient product development to facilitate the affordable production of high-strength, light-weight components with geometries that were not previously achievable – topics to be addressed during the conference include: How is AM revolutionizing the aerospace and railway industries by providing new applications and novel, lightweight materials? How is the design process from CAD to part being changed? How does end-to-end digital manufacturing and generative design speed up time-to-market cycles? And, what is the impact of IoT-based big data collection and process monitoring in AM on improving part quality and precision?

By addressing these and other aspects of industrial AM, the GAAS conference promises to be one of this year’s most exciting events on cutting-edge 3D printing solutions.
