ZeBu Selected for Superior Performance, Ease of Adoption, Cost Effectiveness
SAN JOSE, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — January 26, 2010 — LG Electronics, Inc. (KSE: 066570.KS) has adopted the ZeBu emulation platform from EVE, the leader in hardware/software co-verification, for the verification of its high-performance, mass-market consumer products.
ZeBu-XXL was chosen after a thorough evaluation for its ease of use and cost effectiveness, critical considerations for achieving thorough testing of multi-million gate designs. According to LG Electronics, ZeBu offers superior performance in transaction-based co-emulation, reaching five megahertz (MHz) on 10-million application specific integrated circuit (ASIC)-equivalent gate designs. Also noted is ZeBu’s large catalog of ready-made transactors used to verify LG Electronics’ multi-media designs.
“We were delighted to discover that ZeBu cut two days of register transfer level simulation to an eight-minute co-emulation run driving a set of multimedia transactors,” says Woo-Hyun Paik, research fellow of the System IC Business Team, LG Electronics. “In just months, ZeBu found several deeply rooted bugs that simulation would not have been able to pinpoint in any practical amount of time. We also value the EVE team’s effective and knowledgeable support that permitted us to keep on schedule.”
“We are delighted to be chosen by LG Electronics and appreciate its diligence in conducting the evaluation,” remarks Dr. Luc Burgun, EVE’s chief executive officer and president. “We are confident that, by virtue of its fast execution, ZeBu will significantly accelerate the debugging of its designs and ultimately accelerate the time to market of its new designs.”
