Currently I'm using the NextEngine 3D scanner to obtain models for molusc shells, which require a good level of detail and for them to be illuminated properly when viewed. The models, in the scanning software itself, look great.. however when exported to VRML (for student web access) they are not lit. I have tried a few different solutions, by importing into other 3D programs and setting up camera position and directional lighting. But, now I am running into material problems and the surfaces are looking metallic etc. What is the way to get past this? Is there a way to just have the models be self illuminated, like they are displayed in ScanStudio, or even in Blaze 3D before adding additional lighting?
Or is there a web display option that will pre-light the model? Really, I just need a way to have the model lit with flat lighting, in every angle, no glare.
