CAD Migration – The “Killer App”?

Good article, As a freelance design company we face problem in migrating 3D models along with associted drawing. We get 1000s of drawings & cad models every week and its time consuming to associate drawing, sometime its easier to create fresh drawing out of 3D model. As you said its possible but its time consuming. We use simple PLDM process rather than Vault system. Manufacturers work on Drawings and designers work on CAD models. Olden days we used to say we follow phylosophy of POD-POM (Plain Old Design - Plain Old Manufacturing). but due to rapid changes in CAD world we needed to adapt advanced technology to keep up with the existing technology. At the end of the day it adds cost to the final product, and customer pays higher price for unproductive work. Its become very hard justify the migration. in many cases its nessesory.

This is "old news" - Do you know of any new products or tools that could be used for 100% migration? From any CAD systems? Where is this "killer App"?
